Under Tanzania Skies

13 Days 12 Nights

Your journey begins with a warm welcome and assistance from a representative upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport, followed by a comfortable transfer to Hatari Lodge. You will spend the afternoon entirely at leisure, settling into your room and enjoying the peaceful surroundings before a delicious dinner and a restful night’s sleep.

The next morning, following breakfast, you will head out for an immersive exploration of Arusha National Park. The day’s excursions will take you to the scenic Momella Lakes, known for their vibrant birdlife, and the dramatic Ngurdoto Crater, often called a mini-Ngorongoro because of its lush floor and resident wildlife. After a full day of discovery, you will return to Hatari Lodge for dinner and your overnight stay.

Leaving Arusha behind after breakfast, you will take a scenic drive to Lake Manyara National Park, arriving at the luxurious Lake Manyara Tree Lodge just in time for lunch. The afternoon introduces you to the park’s diverse habitats, from groundwater forests to the lakeshore, during your first set of game activities in the area. You will then spend a full day diving deeper into Lake Manyara’s famous sights, featuring both morning and afternoon game drives to spot tree-climbing lions, massive elephant herds, and pink-hued flocks of flamingos along the water, with all meals and another cozy overnight provided at the tree lodge.

The adventure transitions toward the dramatic crater highlands on the fifth day, beginning with a final morning activity in Manyara before you set off on a drive to the Ngorongoro Crater. You will arrive at the spectacular Ngorongoro Crater Lodge in time for lunch, leaving the afternoon completely free to relax, unwind, and enjoy the unparalleled, palace-like views over the caldera floor. The following morning calls for an early breakfast before descending into the dramatic depths of the Ngorongoro Crater for a comprehensive half-day game drive. You will spend the morning exploring the mineral-rich crater floor in search of the Big Five, including the rare black rhino, before returning to the lodge for lunch and a relaxing afternoon to soak in the incredible atmosphere at your own pace.

A change of pace and scenery awaits on the seventh day. After breakfast, you will drive back down to Manyara to board a scheduled flight to the exclusive Grumeti Reserve, which borders the Western Serengeti. Upon landing, a transfer brings you to either Sabora Camp or Klein’s Camp, where lunch is served before you head out for an afternoon game drive. The next two full days are dedicated to exploring this pristine private concession, beautifully structured around morning and afternoon shared game drives that give you front-row seats to the region’s abundant wildlife and predator action, with all meals and luxurious overnights hosted at the camp.

The final chapter of your expedition ventures into the rugged, river-fed wilderness of Southern Tanzania. You will board a flight to the expansive Selous Game Reserve and transfer directly to Sand Rivers Lodge, arriving in time for a fresh lunch. The afternoon opens up with an exciting game drive or river activity along the Rufiji River, returning to the lodge for dinner. You will then spend two full days fully immersed in the untamed territory of the Selous, making the most of daily morning and afternoon game drives, boat safaris, or guided walks. Throughout your stay, all meals and comfortable riverfront overnights are beautifully taken care of at Sand Rivers Lodge. Your grand Tanzanian safari comes to a close on the thirteenth day, where you will enjoy a final breakfast at the lodge before flying out of the Selous to Dar es Salaam to connect seamlessly with your international departure flight home.
