East Africa Signature Safari

13 Days 12 Nights

Your journey begins with a warm welcome at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, where a representative greets you and transfers you into the peaceful suburbs of Karen. You settle into the unique, treetop-styled comfort of Ngong House for a relaxing evening, shaking off your travel fatigue over a delicious dinner and a peaceful night’s rest on a half-board basis.

The next morning, after a fresh breakfast, you are transferred to Wilson Airport to board a light aircraft flying north via Nanyuki to the rugged landscapes of the Laikipia Conservancy. Upon landing, you check into Loisaba Lodge, perched high on the edge of a golden plateau with sweeping views of Kenya’s northern frontier. The afternoon is spent on your first game drive through the private wilderness, tracking rare northern species before returning to the lodge for dinner.

Your third day offers a complete immersion into the vibrant ecosystems of Laikipia. Morning and afternoon game drives take you across the expansive plains, searching for unique wildlife like the endangered wild dog, Grevy’s zebra, and reticulated giraffe. Between tracking wildlife, you can participate in tailored lodge activities or simply relax and take in the panoramic views, concluding the day with superb dining under the vast African sky.

(Note on Day 4: Your itinerary smoothly transitions your journey from the northern frontier down to the south, leading into your arrival at the legendary Maasai Mara ecosystem.)

Following breakfast on day five, you board a flight via Nanyuki to a private conservancy bordering the world-renowned Maasai Mara National Reserve. Your destination is Cottar’s 1920s Safari Camp, a property that beautifully captures the vintage romance of the golden age of safari. Day six unfolds within the exclusive privacy of the conservancy, allowing you to enjoy flexible wildlife viewing, gourmet meals, and the elegant, timeless hospitality of the camp.

Day seven expands your exploration into the heart of the main Maasai Mara National Reserve. Shared morning and afternoon game drives position you front and center in one of the most prolific wildlife arenas on Earth, tracking massive prides of lions, elegant cheetahs, and endless herds of herbivores roaming the golden grasslands. You return to Cottar’s Camp for a final evening of exceptional dining by lantern light.

On the eighth morning, a final game drive and breakfast bid farewell to Kenya. You embark on a multi-leg flight via Wilson and Kilimanjaro airports, navigating the border transition seamlessly into Tanzania. By late afternoon, you ascend into the lush, misty highlands of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, checking into the spectacular Ngorongoro Crater Lodge to enjoy world-class hospitality overlooking the ancient caldera.

(Note on Day 9: Your journey transitions from the crater highlands toward the expansive plains of the Serengeti ecosystem, setting the stage for your next wild chapter.)

Following breakfast on day ten, you take a scenic drive to the Lake Manyara airstrip for your flight to the exclusive Grumeti Reserve on the edge of the Serengeti. Upon arrival, you transfer to the luxurious folds of either Sabora Tented Camp or Klein’s Camp, settling into your sophisticated base just in time to watch the afternoon shadows lengthen across the wide-open savannah.

Days eleven and twelve are dedicated to the iconic landscapes of the Serengeti. Morning and afternoon game drives track the vast horizons, seeking out leopards draped in acacia branches, cheetahs scanning the plains from rocky kopjes, and the timeless rhythm of the wilderness. Each evening brings you back to the luxurious comfort of your camp to share stories over an exquisite dinner surrounded by the sounds of the Tanzanian bush.

Your grand African safari concludes on day thirteen. After a final morning on the plains, you board a domestic flight to Arusha and transfer to Kia Lodge, conveniently located near the international gateway. Here, you enjoy a comfortable dayroom to freshen up, pack your bags, and relax before your evening transfer to Kilimanjaro International Airport for your onward flight home.
